2017 has been a great year for the horror industry. Between a slew of successful scary movies as well as some pretty creepy TV shows, horror fans have had a whole lot to choose from.
Well, the year isn’t over yet – and it looks like there are a few more scary projects to look forward to including the film The Poughkeepsie Tapes.
If you’ve never heard of the film, that’s because the film was banned from the public about a decade ago. The documentary-style movie is loosely based on a serial killer from Poughkeepsie, NY and “follows a New York police investigation after officers discover 800 video tapes from a serial killer hellbent on creating snuff films of all his murders.”
The film was completed in 2007 and was supposed to be released in 2008, however, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer decided to shelf it. Now after 10 years of being tucked away, the movie will finally be released on DVD, and the public can’t wait.
