Remember back to when you were a teenager and your parents would go on and on about how great it was in “their day?” You’d roll your eyes and scoff at the idea that you’d ever be like that to your own kid. Fast forward to 2018 and you’re probably doing it to your kid, just like you promised yourself you wouldn’t.
It’s completely understandable. Forget the whole “Kids today will never know the struggle…” they will never know how awesome the snack foods in the 80s and 90s truly were. Take a walk down memory lane and feel sorry for your kids that they will never know the greatness that is…
1. Nintendo Cereal System
Let’s start off with the greatest cereal of all time, Nintendo Cereal System. It only lasted a year but we can still remember if we liked the “Super Mario Bros. Action Series” or “Zelda Adventure Series” more. Looking back, it was probably the same taste just in different shapes, but you couldn’t tell a kid that in 1988!
2. Wacky Wafers
Wacky Wafers were basically discs of candy that were the size of a half-dollar and tasted a lot like Bottle Caps. At least, that’s what we remember them tasting like. How would you describe the flavor? Let us know in the comments!
3. PB Max
PB Max was marketed as a “peanut butter snack” but that was probably just to get parents to buy a six pack of what they really were – candy bars. It worked.
