How could anybody forget the 1975 thriller, Jaws? The thought of being attacked by a hungry shark is something that would scare the sh!t out of anyone, and that’s exactly what Jaws did. Just like Stranger Things, the movie was ahead of its time, and it has since become a classic that has been seen by film fans of all ages.

After hitting the big screen in 1984, A Nightmare on Elm Street had viewers everywhere scared to fall asleep for fear that Freddy Krueger would appear in their dreams. Krueger’s character has since become one of the most memorable and terrifying scary movie villains of all-time.

Like Stranger Things, the 1984 movie, Firestarter also focuses on super natural themes. In fact, there are lots of similarities between this film and the show – including the secret governmental experiments that that effect a young character.
