To most of us, classic stories like Sleeping Beauty were just a par of growing up. We enjoyed learning about beautiful princesses and the handsome princes that always found a way to come to their rescue.
In the eyes of most people, the story of Sleeping Beauty is pretty harmless. It even has a happy ending that includes Sleeping Beauty landing the guy of her dreams. So why does Sarah Hall, a mother of a young son want the story banned from his school?
Apparently, Sarah believes that the story is inappropriate for young children. She believes the story is no longer relevant and promotes a toxic sexual environment.
According to Hall, her “son is only six years old and he absorbs everything he sees, and it isn’t as if he can turn it into a constructive conversation”.
So, is Sarah just being an overprotective mother or could she actually be on to something?
