The dudes are partying on! Just a few months after Entertainment Weekly featured a reunion cover (one of many) with Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves, stars of the 90s hit Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and its sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, it was announced that the reunion is more than a just a photoshoot.

If you need a quick refresher: when we last saw Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted ‘Theodore’ Logan, they were on stage singing “God Gave Rock and Roll To You” after defeating death (literally) and winning their lives back. The audience has no idea if Bill and Ted married their fiancées or became rock gods. Their futures were left to the viewers’ imagination.

Here’s what we do know. The actors that played the totally radical duo certainly traveled different paths in the last 27 years. Reeves went on to be a mega-movie star and bassist for his real-life rock band, Dogstar. Looking back, it’s hard to believe that Ted would go on to be such a sought-after Hollywood star that he can pick and choose which movies he will and won’t do and money isn’t a factor in the slightest. He wants to chill in the shadows for a few years? That’s cool, he can. He wants to get back to work being a total bada**? He can do that too.

Winter’s career took a different trajectory and he’s mostly taken behind the camera roles. Winter will be back in front of the camera for Bill & Ted Face The Music, sometime in the near future. Deadline is reporting that there is already a ton of interest in Cannes for the threequel, saying “the movie is likely to be one of the hottest properties at the market.”
