Human beings are a curious species and supposedly the most intelligent on the planet. Many times, these two traits directly conflict with each other. As a result, we find ourselves doing a lot of facepalms over stories and videos of people doing dumb things. Case in point – humans obsession with disturbing wildlife in both their natural habitat and in zoos. When it comes to “really dumb things humans do,” this is going to land somewhere in the Top 5.

Earlier this year, a family on holiday in the Netherlands decided they would like to take in the sights and sounds of nature so they took a visit to Safari Park Beekse Bergen. Instead of just staying in their vehicle like you’re supposed to do when you visit a safari park, this family decided to get out for a closer look at some cheetahs. You know, one of the fastest land animals on the planet.

To make it worse, the couple took their small children out of the car so they could get a closer look as well. The tourists in the car behind them filmed the entire situation. You hear the shock in their voices as they discuss what they are witnessing. A few minutes later, they catch the family out of their car again! This time, the cheetahs noticed them and decided they wanted a closer look. You can check it out below…

Sadly, this sort of thing happens all of the time, all over the world. We really shouldn’t have to say this, but we will anyway, don’t mess with wild animals, even if they’re cute and cuddly like panda bears.
