When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was first announced, DC fans were skeptical. Ben Affleck as Batman? That sounds like the worst movie ever made. Fortunately for fans, it wasn’t just an amazing performance by Affleck and Henry Cavill (Superman), it was the female fists of fury by Wonder Woman.
In the movie, when Lex Luthor unleashes a genetically-engineered monster with DNA from both Zod’s body and his own, Batman and Superman must join forces to save the world. However, Diana Prince aka Wonder Woman arrives unexpectedly. Revealing her nature, she joins with Batman and Superman to fight the creature, leaving fans wowed by Gal Gadot’s performance.
While fans are looking forward to Gadot’s solo Wonder Woman movie that is expected to hit theaters in 2017, others are still living in the past. Cathy Lee Crosby played Wonder Woman in a 1974 pilot movie, but it was Lynda Carter who really brought the character to life. She played the lead from 1975-1079, which was the highlight of her career.
Will the new movie live up to the hype? From the looks of the trailer at San Diego’s Comic Con, it will. Fans will follow Diana Prince, the princess of the Amazons, as she is trained to be a fighter. After an American pilot named Steve Trevor crashes onto the island and tells her about a world war that is happening, Prince leaves her home to try and stop the war thus becoming Wonder Woman.
