They say necessity is the mother of invention. Sometimes, that need comes from a very special or problematic place. It would be nice to think that certain ideas spring forth, fully formed, out of the head of those who created them, but more times than not, deadlines and desperation are more influential than the freedom to find an answer to our most critical questions or conditions.
This Is Jane Healy When She Was Young
When she was nine, British girl Jane Healy was involved in a horrifying camping accident. A stove she was standing next to exploded, sending fire all over her body. Her pajamas fused with her skin. She ended up with severe burns over 75% of her body. She lost her ears. She lost her breasts. And now her body is covered in a collection of gnarled scars that constantly reminder her of what happened.
And This Is Jane Today
Jane is now in her 50s and is trying to make the best of a bad situation. She has endured dozens of skin grafts between the ages of nine and 15. Still, the scarring was an issue. Today, however, she’s come up with a new product for people just like her. It’s called Sea Crème and it’s a mixture sea salt, carrot seed oil, and beeswax and those who’ve used it can attest to the fact that it makes the damaged flesh feel looser and softer.
