Julia Guimaraes is a sports journalist who works for Brazil’s TV Globo and SporTv in Brazil. She’s reporting in front of the stadium in Yekaterinburg, Russia before the Senegal-Japan game when a knucklehead runs up to her mid-report and tries to kiss her. Guimaraes backs away and dodges his kiss but immediately starts going off on him.
Guimaraes can be heard forcibly scolding the man saying: “Don’t do this! Never do this again. Don’t do this. I don’t allow you to do this, never, OK? This is not polite. This is not right. Never do this. Never do this to a woman, OK? Respect.” The guy can be heard off camera apologizing but the damage was already done. The video was posted to Twitter and was viewed more than two million times in less than 24 hours.

During a live broadcast, Colombian reporter Julieth Gonzalez Theran, a correspondent for Deutsche Welle’s Spanish-speaking service, did hold back and continued with her report, but addressed the situation on social media later that day. Theran was in the middle of broadcasting live from Moscow on the opening day of the World Cup, when a “fan” ran up to her, grabbed her breast, and kissed her on the cheek. Somehow, Theran managed to keep it together and finished her report without missing a beat.
