No matter how many times we’re all told that air travel is the safest mode of transportation, there’s still a little twinge of fear that lots of people experience whenever it’s time to take a flight.
So, the minute a flight experiences any kind of turbulence most people start freaking out a little. Let’s be honest, we all know the feeling – and there really isn’t anything worse than being thousands of miles in the air and feeling helpless.
With that being said, imagine how you’d feel if the plane you were traveling on was struck by lightning while trying to reach its maximum altitude. Sure, planes are made to withstand lightning, it doesn’t make it any less terrifying.
For one flight, a lightning strike became reality just a few moments after the plane left the ground. Although it’s unclear whether or not the people on board felt anything, they’d probably feel a little uneasy if they saw the strike from the outside.
